Odd Lot

Definition:

An odd lot refers to a quantity of securities that is less than the standard trading unit, which is typically 100 shares for stocks. For example, buying or selling 37 shares of a stock would be considered an odd lot. Odd-lot orders may be handled differently from standard “round lot” orders and can sometimes face less favorable pricing or execution terms, especially in less liquid markets.
